comments: after seeing these fantastic socks I just couldn't help myself. I had the yarn and I had the pattern printed out. I really like the yarn and how the longitudinal stripes turn out. But unfortunately the fit is really quite awful. It is all too tight to be comfortable. Of course I found this out after grafting all the 140 stitches of the first sock. (There are some courageous knitters out there, who ripped all those stitches after noticing this same problem. Unfortunately I'm not that ambitious! :-D). Afterwards it occurred to me that I should have done some short rows to the critical part (the arch of the foot). I'm still hopeful that the socks get a bit looser with use and wash! And who wouldn't suffer a bit for art's sake!?

Valitettavasti sukkien istuvuus on aika kammottava!

Nice Socks!!! I totally agree with you on suffering for the craft. I wouldn't have the heart to rip back after all that work. Hope the wash and wear works out for you

Komiat sukat tuli. Minun sukkani kyllä "tekeytyivät" käytössä. Osasin jotenkin odottaakin noita istuvuusongelmia, koska niitä tulee minullel aina kun on kyseesä tiimalasikantapää.

Mutta kuten sanoit, taiteen takia kannattaa kyllä vähän kärsiä!

I was not tempted to try this pattern until I saw your socks. I like the colors and how nice the socks look on you. Hope they relax in the wash.

you finished them already! they are beautiful! i love how self-patterning yarn looks when knitted sideways like this.

i still haven't ripped my 140 grafted stitches, i'm afraid. after seeing yours i really want to finish my socks, though, so hopefully i'll find the courage very soon ...
