Holiday, part II

ihana ilma

Kuten kuvasta näkyy, en ole enää Espanjan auringossa, vaan vilpoisessa Suomessa. Onneksi sade alkoi vasta tänaan, mutta kylmää on ollut. Oikein mukavaa kuitenkin. Hyvää inspiraatiota syysneuleiden miettimiseen. Ja villaneuleille on ollut myös kayttöä!

As you can imagine looking at the view, I´m no longer in sunny Spain. In Finland August looks like this. But it has been a lovely week nevertheless, and it only started raining today. But it has been really cold here. Good inspiration for Fall knitting! And using everything knitted!

comments: This is one of my favourite knits of all times. The bliss of the neverending garter stitch! Making up the details as you go. Elizabeth Zimmermann is a genius. The only thing I would do differently are the buttonholes: I would hide the in the i-cord edging, instead of making them when knitting the front. Well, who told me to decide that before finishing the jacket!? It wasn't Elizabeth for sure.

kommentit: Tämä on yksi kaikkien aikojen suosikkineuleistani. Ihanaa ainaoikeaa loputtomiin, ja yksityiskohtia sävelletään sitä mukaa kuin mennään. Elizabeth Zimmermann on nero. Napinreikiin en ole aivan tyytyväinen. Tein ne jo neuloessani etuosaa, mutta i-cordiin piilotettuna ne olisivat kivemmat. Kuka käski tehdä ne ennenkuin takki oli muuten valmis? No ei ainakaan Elizabeth!

Tomorrow I'll show you some new WIPs and new socks!

Huomenna lupaan vilauttaa puikoilla olevia uutuuksia ja uusia sukkia. Lomalla ehtii neuloa!

The Tomten is great and so adaptable.

August is starting to look like that more and more here in Brittany, too.

I love this jacket, and the colours you chose are really something. You'll tell us how the brancal behaves, won't you? Luisa

I'm with you on the neverending garter, especially when it yields such a lovely garment. It's great, and looks so good on the happy recipient!

Ihana! Kaunis! Zimmermann on nero, pitää paikkansa :-). Olen miettinyt kesän aikana monta kertaa tomtenin neulomista... tästä sain taas lisäpontta.

Ihana tomten!
Ei olisi ihan heti tullut mieleen yhdistää moisia värejä, mutta lopputulos on mielettömän hieno.
