yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Bold Red, 2 skeins
needles: 2.0mm addi dpns
comments: Ehem - I have to admit that I pretty much formatted my brain during my Summer vacation, so I don't remember anything... I think I didn't make any modification - no, wait, the toe is different. (I almost always prefer a short row toe). Great pattern, the leg cables are a bit time consuming, but after that the socks are quite easy. Oh, and Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock is such a great yarn!
kommentit: Hehe - ei nyt kauheasti muistu mitään mieleen, kun pää tuli niin totaalisesti formatoitua lomalla. Muistaakseni en muuttanut ohjetta - paitsi kärjen tein erilaila. Teen itseasiassa melkein aina lyhenetyillä kerroksilla neulotun kärjen sukkiini. Malli on hieno. Varren kuviot ovat vähän työläät, mutta kun ne saa tehtyä, nii sukat valmistuvat joutuisasti. Ai niin, Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock on ihanaa lankaa!
Aloitin purppuraiset polvisukat. Colinetten Jitterbug on vähän samantyyppistä kuin Socks That Rock neulottaessa. Molemmilla langoilla neuloessani silmukat eivät ole aivan sileitä, vaan ne jotenkin hyppäävät toisesta (oikeasta) reunasta enemmän esiin. Mistäköhän se johtuu?
I started the Purple Knee Highs. Colinette Jitterbug feels a bit like Socks That Rock (but STR is smoother on the surface and has a harder core, I think). A strange phenomenon happens when I knit with these two yarns: the stitches aren't completely smooth, the right side of the loop (in st st) jumps out more than the other. I wonder what causes this. Does anyone of you know?

The reason the right side of the stitch jumps out probably has to do with the way the yarn was plied. See the Knitty article here for a good explanation.

Mä oon huomannut saman ilmiön Jitterbugissa, johtuu varmaan kierteisyydestä, Jitterbugissa se on eri suuntaan kuin yleensä

Oho, kylläpäs tuo kirja vaikuttaa herkulta. Juuri lupasin itselleni jotain kivaa kunhan saan ison työprojektin loppuun. Kuvittelin ostavani sarjakortin jumppaan, mutta nyt en ole enää ihan varma...
Lanka on siis ilmeisesti z-kierteellä? Tosin olen huomannut joskus s-kierteenkin tuottavan toisesta päästä pullottavia silmukoita. Silloin on ehkä kyse kierteen määrästä.
