STR Rose Quartz Rozas Socks

comments: This is such a nice pattern! I actually first started it with a solid coloured Opal yarn, but didn't like the result at all and ripped them. With Socks that Rock Lightweight it was another story: the yarn is much more substantial and the subtle colour variation looks really nice. The only thing I changed in the pattern was making the end of the toe a little bit wider - I grafted 13+13 stitches together. These socks are really comfortable. I almost wasn't able to take them off after the photo shoot!

STR lightweight and Jitterbug

Luulenpa että olen ehkä löytänyt ainakin vähän Socks that Rock-lankaa muistuttavan eurooppalaisen vastikeen...

I might have found a close match for Socks that Rock Lightweight which you can get in Europe...

Colinette Jitterbug Velvet Bilberry

Colinette Jitterbug siis löysi tiensä tännekin! Velvet-värit näyttivät niin houkuttelevilta, etten voinut vastustaa kiusausta. Kuvassa komeilee Velvet Bilberry. Tilasin kaksi vyyhtiä, mielessä ehkä polvisukat, joihin taitaa IK:n kesänumerossa tulla ohjekin.

It's Colinette Jitterbug! The new velvet colourways looked too good to be true. I got to hanks of Velvet Bilberry. Should be enough for a pair of knee high socks featured in the new IK (which I haven't received yet - so no promises).

phildar hoodie back and sleeves

After finishing Roza's Socks I really tried to keep away from socks for a while, in order to finish the Phildar cabled hoodie. For a whole week I knitted and cabled and knitted and blocked but still there's no end in sight. I still have over half of the front piece and the hood to finish. So yesterday I casted on a new pair of socks. Pattern by Nancy Bush. I'm adapting the pattern for only 60 stitches and I'm thinking of a Welsh heel and maybe a Star toe...

next stop - hot pink lozenge socks

Love the Roza's in that gorgeous shade of STR. And the Colinette stuff is just as great as STR...but too expensive here for the amount of yarn you get.

The Roza's...they look so neat and well-fitted!Gotta love a square toe, and you're right; the variegated yarn comes up well in the simple pattern.

These damn regrets... :)

Jummijammi, taisin juuri keksiä, mihin voisin käyttää yhden kaapissani maatuneen sukkalangan: ilmiselvää Roza-ainesta. :)

Palmikot näyttävät herkullisilta!

Oh, WOW! Mari, I love your Roza's! And I'm happy to have had a part in your making of them. ;) And how interesting about Jitterbug! I always suspected that there must be other dyers out there using the same base yarn as STR, but just didn't know who they might be. And someday I'll start my cabled hoodie--soon as I crack the code of the Frenchie instructions!

Your Roza's Socks show off the pattern so beautifully, and I love the color you chose. I think we must have cast on the Gentleman's Socks with Lozenge Pattern on the same day...mine are a belated (for a good reason!) Christmas present for my step-dad. I'm looking forward to seeing yours!

Onpas monet kauniit sukat valmistuneet! Nuo keltaiset edellisessä postissa ovat kyllä minun suosikkini, vaikka muutkin ovat kivoja.
