Thunder! Lightning!

rolling thunder front

pattern: Rolling Thunder
yarn: Bergère de France Cablenyl (75%wool, 25% polyamid), beads
needles: 2mm

comments: These turned out pretty nice! I love the combination of the plain garter rib pattern and the fancy beaded cuff. The only problem I had was due to my own stupidity: somehow I always manage to pick up the wrong loops of the crochet cast on... and then it's a pain to get rid of the waste yarn.

kommentit: Näistä tuli kivat! Käytännöllisen perussukan ja hienohelman yhdistelmä. Ainoa vastaantullut ongelma näitä tehdessä johtui aivan omasta tyhmyydestä: virkkausaloituksessa (?) jotenkin aina onnistun poimimaan aloitussilmukat väärin, ja sitten hukkalangan pois purkaminen on todella rasittavaa.

Söpöt sukat:) Helmet tuo kyllä niihin kivan lisän.

Voi miten ihanat sukat! Taidan tahtoa minäkin helmisukat. :-)
Oletko muuten varma, että purit sen virkkausaloituksen oikeasta päästä? Minulla meni aika kauan hoksata, että toisesta eli siitä väärästä päästä se ei todellakaan purkaudu... :-D

Voi, miten hienot. Vielä hienommat kuin originaalit. Helmet sukanvarsissa on mainio juttu.

Upeat!

Beautiful! The beads really add to the design!

The socks look wonderful! Here is a provisional crochet cast-on where you put the loops directly onto the knitting needle. I find it easier, and it's impossible to pick up the wrong loop. :-)

Those are some awesome socks! I really envy your work, so many beautiful knits.
By the way, thank you so much for your tip on Lopo & Xavier - I went there last Monday and it was a real treat. The gentleman was really nice and even told me I could order by phone and gave me a shade card. And I bought some yummy yarns. Thank you so much, I'll be returning for sure.

When I saw you'd posted these on flickr, I thought "Oh there she goes again, whipping off ANOTHER pair of beautiful socks just like it's nothing at all"
You're so fast on the socks Mari:)
Love the colour

Kaunista! Juuri sopiva kombinaatio hienohelmaa ja peruspässinpökkimää. :)

I'm not usually a beaded knits kind of person, but I truly think those are lovely. The beads add a delicate touch, and I just love the colour combination.

Kivat sukkaset!

Paljon kivemmat kuin Knittyssä. Värikin on ukkospilvenharmaa. Mulla myös aina yhtä vaikeaa ymmärtää virkatun aloituksen päälle...

They look lovely!

I really like your version much better than the original one ;o)
