Jamaica Baby Blanket

It's done!

jamaica FO

pattern: Mitered Square Blanket in by Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne
from Mason-Dixon Knitting, instructions for No-Sew Mitered Squares here
(I made the squares a bit smaller - 56 sts instead of 72)
size: about 80cm x 80cm
yarn: Katia Jamaica (100% cotton), colour 4009, 4 x 100g skeins; about 50g. of lime green cotton yarn by Tricots Brancal.
needles: 3.5 clover bamboo circ.

jamaica FO 1

jamaica FO 3

Reunasta tuli vähän liian löysä, mutta en jaksanut säätää sitä.

The border came out a bit too loose, but I couldn't be bothered to arrange it.

jamaica FO 2

Huomenna postiin! Vauva on kuulemma vielä mahassa, eli aikataulu piti!

I'll send it tomorrow by mail! I was informed today that the baby is still inside the belly, so the timing is perfect!

I love it so much. It is my favorite mitered square blanket that I've ever seen. I believe I need to start one just like it immediately... it's the yarn - so random, but also not. Wonderful!

Ihanan pirtee peitto synkkiin syksyisiin iltoihin. Varmasti lämmittää saajaansa niin sisäisesti kuin ulkoisestikin!

Kuul, vihreä sopii mainiosti! Kokoaa peiton jotenkin yhteen.

The green border really makes the blanket pop. It looks great. Love non-traditional colours for babies!

Oi miten kaunis! Sen alla näkee varmasti iloisia unia. Tykkään myös tuosta vihreästä; korostaa hyvin peiton punaista.

Todella ihana peitto :)
Tiedätkö löytyykö tuollaisen tilkun ohjetta jostain suomeksi? En ole oikein hyvä noissa ulkomaan kielissä ;)

I love it so much! I've never even thought of doing a whole blanket in Jamaica. It's wonderful, the repetition and the different stripe patterns. The border is the perfect touch. What color sense!

Lucky baby!
